Troubles with Root Canals in Ireland

Half of root canal work is substandard

MORE than half of the root canal procedures carried out on Irish teeth are substandard, according to a new study.

An analysis of patients at the Dublin Dental hospital showed that 52% of their root fillings were “technically inadequate” and a quarter had become infected.

The first research to determine the quality of root canal work in Ireland concluded that it was poor and that the prevalence of infection around teeth was high.
